2026 Funded Grants & Programs

In 2026, the Jamestown Education Foundation proudly supported a range of innovative, hands-on learning experiences across Jamestown schools. These grants reflect JEF’s ongoing commitment to enriching student learning through creativity, STEM, the arts, and community engagement.

School Greenhouse – $3,000
A new greenhouse will provide students with year-round, hands-on learning in environmental science, sustainability, and plant cultivation. Integrated into classroom instruction and after-school programming, it will serve as a dynamic STEM resource that fosters curiosity, scientific inquiry, and a lasting connection to the natural world.

Hellenic Horizons – Melrose Cultural Study (2026/2027) – $2,500
This year-long cultural learning experience brings global perspectives directly to Melrose students through immersive activities such as live Greek music performances and hands-on pottery workshops. The program deepens cultural understanding, empathy, and student engagement through experiential learning.

Lawn School Weather Station – $2,300
A modern wireless weather station at Lawn School provides real-time weather data for students across Jamestown. The system supports hands-on STEM learning by allowing students to collect, analyze, and interpret authentic weather and climate data while also serving as a valuable community resource.

Garden Club – $1,500
This outdoor learning initiative expands Melrose’s garden-based programming into a more fully developed learning space. Students will engage in planting, maintaining, and harvesting crops while exploring plant science, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.

Math Night – $1,200
A schoolwide family math carnival designed to make math engaging, accessible, and fun. Through interactive games and hands-on activities, students and families experience mathematics in a meaningful and memorable way.

CISF 4th Grade Sailing Program – $1,000
A weeklong sailing experience for all incoming 4th-grade students at Melrose, introducing participants to teamwork, confidence-building, and ocean-based learning through hands-on instruction.

JAC Pride Arts Day – $1,000
A community arts event designed to expand how students experience creative expression through visual and performing arts. The program highlights diverse artistic traditions and encourages exploration of identity, storytelling, and performance.

Builders Club – $700
Support for STEM kits, building materials, and hands-on construction activities for the Builders Club at Melrose, serving students in grades K–1.

Bit Players Improv Theater Performance – $200
A schoolwide professional improv performance at Lawn School, introducing students to the art of improvisational theater through interactive comedy and live performance. The event builds creativity, collaboration, communication, and confidence.
